Cheap, Quick (but not nasty). Get Married Now, Party Later.
The COVID-19 climate and restrictions on gatherings for weddings, has resulted in a lot of couples deciding to “elope”, either instead of, or in addition to their big day.
In response to this, I am introducing a new “package” to my Becky Married Me services, for the remainder of 2020*.
We do the bare-legal-minimum we need to do, to get the two of you married.
We meet in person once (COVID-safe), we can wear masks - the rest is done remotely.
No scripts, no meetings, no fuss. I turn up to your place, or you turn up to mine - and we get you two married.
Who is this for?
Couples who are postponing their wedding celebrations to next year, but want to be married now!
Couples who are having wedding celebrations overseas (when we’re allowed to travel again...), but would like to feel the security of having their legal ceremony completed in Australia.
Low-fuss/low-key couples, who just wanna be married.
Introverts, who want to keep it intimate (you will need two witnesses there however).
What does the package include:
A phone call or video chat (optional) - to explain the process.
All the legal things a celebrant needs to do, to get you married.
The couple completes their own Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) - and provides it to their celebrant (yours truly), at least 30 days before they intend on getting married (by email or post).
Becky (referring to myself in the third person), turns up to your designated location (within Newcastle, Hunter, Port Stephens or Central Coast area), at your designated time. No venues, just private residences, cafes/restaurants or a public place that is informant to you.
2 hours inclusive travel time.
Becky, the couple and their two witnesses say what needs to be said, and sign what needs to be signed.
A card with what you need to say written on it.
A pen (for you to use, not keep unfortunately... but maybe I can look into getting some pens?).
Your Commemorative Marriage Certificate, in its offical envelope (legal evidence you were married then and there!).
Becky registers your marriage with NSW Births, Deaths Marriages.
What does it not include:
A speech/script/presentation by the celebrant (NB this does not stop you from writing your own vows, exchanging rings, having a beer, hiring a photographer or celebrating in whatever way you see fit.).
Face-to-Face meetings prior to the ceremony date.
No PA system/microphone or furniture provided
You marriage certificate from Births, Deaths and Marriages (you will need one of these if you want to change your name, they are $60 to order from BDM.
But guess what, the closest registry offices are in Sydney (and we literally can'y travel there at the moment).
With the Literally Legals option, you can fill forms in while wearing your PJs (I guess you could even wear your PJs to the local Police Station to get an officer to witness your NOIM?) - and then I come to you (where you can also be wearing your PJs if you really want).
Cost: $300 (for the services listed above)

Flexible dates and times:
I am available around normal business hours (i.e. weekday mornings and evenings, maybe even during lunch), and on weekends (at times I do not have another ceremony). I am flexible on time (a midnight wedding might get confusing date wise however ;) ) .
If you are looking for a little more, i.e. an elopement, where there is a “mini ceremony” with a beginning, middle and end, you may like to consider my usual “Legals Only/Registry Style” package. I have been offering discounted rates for COVID-affected weddings.
If you would like to organise a Literally Legals marriage ceremony with Becky Married Me, your an use the contact form on my website, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Notes on Booking:
*Bookings made in 2020, but your date can be in 2021
If you book for a Saturday, your time will need to be flexible around any personalised ceremonies I may have booked that day.
Normal booking T's and C's apply, but there is no seperate deposit/booking fee. Full payment must be made two days before your ceremony date.
